Required signage must be permanently posted in a conspicuous location within the elevator machine room, elevator control space, or elevator control room. The sign displays the text NO COMBUSTIBLE STORAGE PERMITTED IN THIS ROOM BY ORDER OF THE FIRE MARSHAL enclosed within a bordered plate. Lettering height must be a minimum of 1-1/2 inches high on a contrasting background. The wording Fire Marshal may be replaced if directed by the local fire authority.
