A slotted top track and steel studs meet a fireproofed steel beam beneath a concrete-filled metal deck, sealed with spray-applied firestopping in compliance with UL Design Number HW-D-0218. Continuous twenty-gauge steel Z-furring secures to each stud with number ten sheet metal screws, maintaining a one-half-inch overlap and specific clearance dimensions per UL Design Numbers HW-D-0639 and HW-D-0640. Spray-applied firestopping is also detailed for beam penetrations at concrete masonry unit walls under UL Design Number HW-D-0140.
