This wall header detail features a fiber cement panel exterior cladding installed over rainscreen strapping and thermal clips. A continuous weather-resistive barrier backed by foil-faced self-adhering membrane protects the substrate, with joints secured by weather-resistive barrier tape. A five-quarter by four-inch fiber cement trim piece finishes the header condition above the opening. Non-expanding urethane foam fill and a pre-stripped weather-resistive barrier seal the rough opening transition, finished with exterior weather sealant.
