This roof valley detail shows a roofing system membrane applied over a fastened one-quarter-inch pre-primed cover board. Tapered rigid insulation with a two-inch minimum and ten-inch maximum thickness is installed over a vapor barrier and metal deck. A flashing membrane is hot-air welded at the valley centerline and finished with a membrane coverstrip. The entire assembly bears on structural steel roof framing.
