The guardrail assembly features a three-inch by one-half-inch thick steel flat bar top rail supported by three-inch by one-half-inch thick vertical steel stanchions. One-quarter-inch diameter stainless steel cables thread horizontally through the stanchions at three-inch vertical spacings. The stanchions attach to a six-inch high by one-half-inch thick steel U-plate, which is welded to the flange of a C12x20.7 steel channel stair stringer.
