A pop-up spray head or rotor is positioned flush with the finish grade and connected to a pre-fabricated swing joint assembly. The swing joint ties into a Schedule 40 PVC tee or ell slip by female iron pipe thread by slip fitting. A Schedule 40 PVC lateral pipe feeds the assembly, accompanied by a trace wire and detect-a-tape in the trench. Lateral lines for rotors are installed above ground on staked PVC assemblages and lightly covered with mulch to facilitate disassembly after plant establishment, requiring proper drainage and winterization before freezing temperatures.
