The exterior assembly consists of aluminum composite material panels attached at a vertical joint over three inches of rigid insulation and three inches of Z-metal furring. The furring is fastened through a fluid-applied air and moisture barrier over five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing. The primary backup structure uses six-inch metal stud framing as required for masonry clips. The interior side is finished with five-eighths-inch gypsum board, painted where exposed.
