An electrical junction box is recessed within an acoustically rated steel stud partition framed at twenty-four inches on center with gypsum board finishes. A sound attenuation blanket fills the wall cavity around the framing. An outlet box pad seals around the box perimeter to maintain the acoustic rating of the assembly. A cover plate finishes the opening flush with the partition surface.
