A wall hydrant penetrates a twelve-inch concrete masonry unit backup wall, exterior rigid insulation, air space, and concrete masonry unit veneer. A self-adhered air and vapor barrier laps a minimum of two inches onto the through-wall penetration continuously around its perimeter. Continuous sealant and backer rod seal the perimeter of the penetration at both the exterior veneer and interior backup wall faces.
