An expansion joint separates a new concrete retaining wall from an existing tilt-up wall. A three-quarter-inch thick layer of asphalt impregnated fiber board fills the joint gap between the concrete surfaces. The top of the joint is finished with sealant applied over the fiber board. Both upper corners of the new retaining wall feature a one-half-inch chamfer.
