A continuous 22-gauge minimum 3-inch deep leg deflection track is attached to the fluted steel deck at a maximum of 12 inches on center. The gap between the concrete slab and the top of the wall is filled with mineral wool insulation. Spray-applied firestop material is applied to each side with a minimum 1/2-inch overlap at the gypsum board and deck, ensuring gypsum board and studs are left unattached to the deflection track in this designated area. A continuous 2-inch wide by 22-gauge metal strap is provided, with gypsum board attached to the strap at a maximum of 8 inches on center.
