A three-inch diameter by one-quarter-inch thick steel pipe column penetrates through the roofing system and is secured to a structural support below with a six-inch by six-inch by one-half-inch steel plate and four three-eighths-inch by two-and-one-half-inch bolts. A roof flashing boot extends a minimum of twelve inches above the roof system around the pipe column. The pipe includes a bolted splice connection formed by two three-eighths-inch steel plates connected with four three-eighths-inch diameter bolts. The entire assembly is hot-dip galvanized after fabrication.
