An eight-inch concrete masonry unit parapet wall terminates with a metal coping cap installed over a continuous cleat and felt underlayment with watertight joints and no exposed nails or screws. The coping slopes at two percent minimum toward the roof side and is secured with number twelve sheet metal screws with neoprene washers spaced at twelve inches on center. A metal C-channel stud sits within the top of the masonry wall, anchored by a half-inch diameter anchor bolt with six-inch embedment spaced at sixteen inches on center. Multi-purpose tape is applied beneath the framing member over the grouted masonry top.
