A painted steel handrail and guardrail assembly mounts to a concrete slab and steel channel stringer. The top rail consists of a one-and-a-half-inch outer diameter painted steel handrail, complemented by matching one-and-a-half-inch outer diameter steel tube rails. Structural support is provided by one-and-a-half by one-and-a-half-inch by eleven gauge hollow structural section steel tube posts welded or anchored to the assembly. The post base is anchored at the concrete slab with structural slab depression, while intermediate posts connect to the steel channel stringer. Vertical and horizontal dimensions establish a thirty-six inch top rail height and a twenty-three inch minimum extension.
