This assembly details a utility chase integrated into a Dowel Laminated Timber deck, utilizing a 1/2-inch plywood infill sized per structural requirements. The chase is framed with 2x4 blocking and 3x3 blocking, with a vapor barrier wrapped up and over the 2x4 blocking where applicable. A 10 1/4-inch clear opening is provided for mechanical and electrical services, including junction boxes and conduit. Sprinkler lines are shown for reference, requiring concealed sprinkler heads to be centered on the cover panel using flexible fittings per specifications. The acoustic Dowel Laminated Timber deck is installed with no exposed fasteners at the underside, and a cover panel is installed per specifications to conceal the chase.
