A steel pipe handrail mounts to a concrete panel via a quarter-inch by three-inch diameter steel mounting plate welded to the handrail with smooth welds and filled pits as required. The bracket assembly secures to the concrete panel using three quarter-inch by three-inch expansion bolts spaced at six feet on center and six inches from each end. The handrail features a smooth return to the wall and maintains a height of thirty-four to thirty-eight inches. All exterior stair, railing, and miscellaneous metals are specified to be galvanized, and the handrail assembly is designed to resist a load of fifty pounds per linear foot applied in any direction at the top, conforming to California Building Code sections 1012 and 1133B.4.1.
