A steel ladder column connects at the roof deck using an L4 x 4 x 1/4 angle brace on each side at the top of the column, extending to the nearest joist or beam. A 1/2-inch closure plate caps the column top. The angles attach to the column with 3/16-inch fillet welds on both sides. Typical roof deck attachment to the angle is provided per structural drawings.
