A metallic conduit penetrates a one or two hour fire-rated gypsum wall board assembly framed with wood or steel studs. The annular space around the conduit is sealed on each side of the wall assembly with a one-quarter inch minimum diameter bead of 3M Fire Barrier CP 25 caulk or MP moldable putty.
