A roof drain is installed through roof sheathing supported by structural framing, with tapered rigid insulation creating a drain sump at less than three inches to one horizontal foot. A reinforced waterproofing membrane ties into the drain flange and is sealed with continuous sealant around the assembly. The drain bowl is secured with mechanical fasteners extending through the framing. Tapered rigid insulation directs positive drainage toward the roof drain sump per manufacturer specifications.
