This wall section details an exterior expansion joint transition within an exterior insulation and finish system assembly. The backing wall consists of six-inch metal studs faced with five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum sheathing. The exterior insulation buildup features varying thicknesses, including two-inch and four-inch EIFS layers finished with specified paint colors and Sto Armor Mat XX reinforcing mesh embedded in Sto primer-adhesive. A proprietary expansion joint transition from the manufacturer is integrated into the joint gap and sealed with backer rod and sealant.
