A hollow structural section column bears on a nine-inch by five-inch by one-half-inch embed plate secured atop a concrete wall. Two three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts with full penetration welds connect to the embed plate. The base of the steel column is welded to the embed plate with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld.
