This assembly consists of a television soffit mounted to a supporting wall framed with three and five-eighths inch metal studs. The soffit structure utilizes one and five-eighths inch metal stud framing fastened directly to the supporting wall studs. A five-eighths inch plywood backing is installed behind the gypsum board to provide structural support for the television mount. The exterior finish includes five-eighths inch gypsum board with wallcovering specified to wrap into the inside corners. Power and data outlets are to be coordinated with electrical plans for installation on the wall behind the television.
