A hollow structural section post supports a hollow structural section beam carrying a roof metal deck sized per the framing plan. Teks self-drilling screws secure the metal deck according to roof metal deck notes. A steel channel and post connection is detailed with a 3/16 inch fillet weld and a field weld symbol at the beam-to-post junction. The vertical clearance from the foundation top to the underside of framing is maintained at a minimum of 2'-0" and verified with architectural plans. Base plates and anchor bolts secure the hollow structural section posts into the concrete foundations.
