The base condition of a two-hour rated shaft wall assembly is constructed with six-inch CH studs and a one-inch shaft liner secured to J-runners. The shaft wall features two layers of gypsum board on one side with typical insulation installed within the cavity. The ceiling line is coordinated per the building section and incorporates two layers of gypsum board below with a one-inch shaft liner above.
