This exterior wall assembly features a horizontal wood rain screen exterior cladding mounted over a one-inch air space and two inches of mineral wool insulation placed between vertical furring on clips. A fluid-applied weather barrier coats the one-half-inch exterior sheathing, which is framed by metal studs with batt insulation and an internal vapor barrier. The interior side is finished per schedule. Continuous metal angles mounted to slotted metal clip angles support the exterior layers, located six inches and one foot two inches from the structural grid line.
