A steel pipe guardrail and handrail assembly is supported by concrete construction at this stair landing detail. The top of the railing is positioned at three feet six inches above the finish floor, with the handrail set at three feet. Vertical posts and horizontal members utilize one and one-half inch outside diameter steel pipe, connected with one-half inch steel flat bar supports. Plug welds occur at the horizontal projections. Spacing between intermediate rails maintains a maximum dimension of four inches for safety compliance. The guardrail mounts directly to a concrete beam and finish floor assembly at the stair landing.
