A hollow metal frame is set into a concrete masonry unit wall and secured with jamb anchors spaced at a maximum of eight inches on center. The hollow metal frame is fully grout-filled and protected with a bituminous coating on the exterior face bearing against the masonry. The masonry is notched as required for hardware provisions and varying conditions. A sealant bead finishes the joint between the frame and the masonry edge on both sides. Partition types dictate varying conditions and dimensions that must be coordinated accordingly.
