The electrical box is installed within a partition wall assembly containing continuous acoustic batt insulation and gypsum board. A one-hour fire-rated gypsum board enclosure or a one-sixteenth-inch thick lead lining protects the box. An acoustical sealing pad covers the back of the box to maintain wall performance. A one-quarter-inch gap around the box perimeter is filled with acoustic sealant to prevent sound flanking.
