A mechanical platform assembly is supported by structural steel framing and wide-flange beams. Galvanized steel grating or metal decking spans between the beams, finished with a continuous galvanized steel kickplate at columns and platform openings. Standard galvanized steel pipe posts support the pipe railing and are spaced at a maximum of four feet six inches on center, welded directly to the supporting beam below. A steel closure plate is provided at the web of the wide-flange structural column.
