This interior door head detail shows a hollow metal frame set within a cold-formed steel stud partition for openings up to eight feet wide. A boxed metal stud header is positioned above the frame, anchored by a continuous twenty gauge metal runner at the base of the stud wall. Batt insulation fills the partition cavity above the header per the architectural schedule. Joint sealant is applied to both sides of the frame where it meets the gypsum board partition finish. A hollow metal door sits below the frame head.
