Diagonal braces consist of 3-5/8 inch by 20 gauge steel studs with a maximum length of 8 feet-0 inches, spaced at 4 feet-0 inches on center and inclined between 30 and 60 degrees. Each end of the brace is secured with two number 8 sheet metal screws positioned a minimum of 6 inches from the end. The top of the brace attaches via a 2-1/2 inch by 2-1/2 inch by 16 gauge by 8 inch long steel angle fastened with two number 8 sheet metal screws to the wood deck. The vertical wall framing utilizes 3-5/8 inch by 20 gauge steel studs spaced at 16 inches on center, finished with 5/8 inch Type X gypsum board. A continuous top track bent plate is attached to the steel deck with two number 8 sheet metal screws at 16 inches on center.
