A six-inch thick concrete slab incorporates a one-and-a-half-inch deep sawcut filled with sealant over expansion joint filler material at the contraction joint. Three-quarter-inch diameter by twenty-four-inch smooth dowels are spaced at eighteen inches on center at the center of the slab across the joint.
