A transition occurs between a three to five inch diameter compacted stone layer and adjacent concrete pavement. A filter fabric separates the nine inch thick stone layer from the underlying compacted subgrade. The finish surface of the stone aligns with the adjacent pavement finish surface, while the subgrade steps down to maintain the stone depth. Alignment notes indicate proper surface and subgrade coordination at the interface.
