A hollow structural section steel column passes through a framed partition wall assembly. The wall framing consists of metal studs and batt insulation enclosed by gypsum wallboard on both faces. Perimeter sealant joints seal the connection between the wallboard and the steel column profile. Additional batt insulation wraps the profile of the column within the wall cavity space.
