A 1-1/2 inch diameter stainless steel pipe handrail terminates with a capped end and extends one foot from the last nosing at the top or bottom of a stair flight or ramp landing. The handrail bracket fastens through the wall finish into a 2x6 wood backing located at each handrail bracket position. A 3-inch diameter by 1/4-inch thick stainless steel plate distributes the attachment at the wall surface. The assembly maintains a 1-5/8 inch clearance from the wall face.
