A twelve-gauge hanging wire connects to a steel strap anchored directly to the overhead substrate using a 3/8-inch by 1-7/8-inch Hilti KH-EZ screw anchor or equal. The 1-inch wide by 2-inch long, minimum 12-gauge steel strap provides an attachment loop for the wire, which maintains a maximum 45-degree angle with a 3-turn twist. The anchoring device requires a maximum 1-3/4-inch embedment depth into the overhead material.
