Vertical guardrail posts mount along the slab edge at a stair top landing, positioned relative to the front edge of the tread below and the line of the riser. A bent closure plate finishes the edge of the slab where it meets the adjacent wall. The handrail extends past the top landing post with a two-and-a-quarter-inch offset.
