A vertical support wire and lateral support wires connect a compression post to the underside of a wood purlin overhead. The vertical wire attaches using a top clip and secures to the compression post through a spring clip, while a one-quarter-inch diameter by three-inch-long closed-eye wood screw anchors each lateral splay wire directly into the wood member.
