This wall partition assembly features a central metal stud framing member flanked on both sides by three layers of 5/8-inch gypsum board to achieve a three-hour fire rating. Insulation is included within the stud cavity where specified. The assembly measures 9-3/4 inches in total thickness, with each individual gypsum layer measuring 5/8 inch and the metal stud cavity measuring 6 inches deep.
