A metal expansion track is centered within a two-inch gap between gypsum board ceiling panels to accommodate thermal and structural movement. Gypsum board margins terminate at the track profiles, secured by fasteners through the flanges. Ceiling bracing members align parallel to the joint at three-quarters of an inch and one and one-quarter inches out from the centerline. The central expansion opening maintains a clear width of one-half inch.
