This assembly features a guardrail base shoe mounted atop a roof deck edge, primed with zinc chromate per manufacturer recommendations. A stainless steel flashing with four-inch legs is secured to the vertical face using ringshank nails spaced at six inches on center in a staggered pattern. The entire assembly is protected by a Prosoco CAT 5 vapor barrier on the vertical substrate and a 120 mil Gaco Western Gacoflex LM-60H liquid-applied waterproofing membrane with roofing granules across the horizontal deck surface. The flashing extends four inches onto the deck to ensure a continuous waterproof seal at the base shoe connection.
