A non-rated partition wall meets a steel beam. Acoustical insulation within the stud cavity matches the insulation specified for the partition head system. Continuous acoustical sealant applied to both sides of the partition at the beam interface matches the sealant used at the partition head. Fireproofing covers the steel beam web and flange, maintaining a sealant joint gap of 1/4 inch minimum to 3/8 inch maximum and a 1 inch maximum clearance for the partition termination.
