A pipe penetrates a single-ply roofing membrane over a roof deck assembly with a minimum R-30 rigid insulation layer and treated wood blocking as required. A two-pound cone-shaped lead flashing or galvanized watertight umbrella is wrapped into the top of the pipe, extending a minimum of twelve inches above the roof level and set in a continuous bed of mastic. A stainless steel clamp secures the top wrap of the umbrella over the pipe with a one-inch minimum clearance and a two-inch minimum lap. A membrane transition sheet is fully adhered and sealed around the roofing cone to the single-ply roofing membrane.
