Plumbing lines installed within a metal stud partition wall require partition depth adjustment to accommodate the drain line. Pipes must remain clear of the structure except at head and sill plates, maintaining a minimum one-inch clearance from the gypsum board on the non-plumbing side of the adjacent unit. A pipe insulator is required at the penetration point where the pipe exits the wall. The remaining wall cavity must be filled with batt insulation, and the pipe must be separated from the framing members.
