A metal top J runner track is secured to an overhead concrete slab with minimum one-eighth-inch powder-actuated fasteners spaced at twenty-four inches on center with minimum one-and-one-quarter-inch embedment. The track is left unattached to the studs or gypsum wallboard to allow for one inch of deflection clearance unless noted otherwise. A continuous fire and smoke rated spray-on sealant system overlaps a minimum of one inch onto the gypsum wallboard and concrete slab. Sound attenuation fire blanket is installed in the stud cavity per partition type, and gypsum wallboard layers are attached to the studs only with drywall screws.
