This assembly features a concealed sprinkler head recessed into a gypsum wallboard ceiling system. The sprinkler head is connected to a rigid pipe above the ceiling plane. A one-inch clearance is maintained on each side of the sprinkler body within the ceiling cutout, which is finished with a four and one-quarter inch diameter escutcheon plate. An oversized hole and escutcheon plate are not required for sprinkler heads utilizing flexible fittings.
