This threshold transition detail connects exterior concrete pavers on a sand setting bed to scheduled interior carpet and backing over a concrete slab on grade or concrete plank. A six-inch door threshold supplied by the door manufacturer bridges the junction, with the specific profile selected by the architect. A caulking compression joint seals the space between the threshold and the exterior concrete pavers. The carpet nap is maintained slightly above the adjacent floor finish.
