This two-hour rated shaftwall assembly connects to the underside of the deck using four-inch twenty-gauge minimum C-H metal studs spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The assembly incorporates a one-inch gypsum board liner panel with one layer of five-eighths-inch gypsum board on each side. Three-and-a-half-inch insulation is installed between the studs. The system complies with Underwriters Laboratories specification UL U415 System E.
