A two-hour rated partition built to Underwriters Laboratories design U419 terminates at a hollow structural section curtain wall mullion. The partition assembly incorporates two-by-four non-structural metal framing enclosed in gypsum board and finished with a laminated metal wrap. A half-inch continuous glulam cap clads the end of the partition assembly. Mineral wool insulation pack combined with sealant and backer rod bridges the joint between the partition and the adjacent curtain wall.
