A grab bar measuring one and one-quarter to one and one-half inches in diameter connects to a wall assembly requiring engineered backing. The mounting flange features a two and one-half inch spacing secured by two number twelve sheet metal screws at each stud connection. The face plate sits over the mounting flange while two number ten sheet metal screws fasten each stud to the backing per structural specifications.
